"BUDWEISER MADE IN AMERICA FESTIVAL" HEADLINED AND CURATED BY @JAYZ JAY Z


September 2012, Philadelphia PA: As the summer concert season winds down, Budweiser and JAY Z hosted the Made In America music festival in Philadelphia. The exciting slate of talent cultivated by JAY Z included an eclectic mix of acts ranging from rock, hip-hop, R&B, Latin and dance. The two day concert festival benefited United Way.

The Made In America festival culminated a summer of music parties in cities all across America, wherein Budweiser invited its Facebook fans to experience talented local bands and artists. Budweiser, brewed across America, has a decades-long history of celebrating great American music.

Fireworks lit the sky as JAY Z rendered his signature hits. The festival was filmed for a documentary directed by Ron Howard, who was inspired by the inclusive theme of Made In America wherein a multitude of musical genres were brought together. Producer Brian Grazer likened JAY Z to a "Modern Day Amadeus!" Celebrities and recording artists mingled in the VIP area during the concerts, including Emmy Rossum.

Fans danced in rhythm to the heavy, hip-hop beats of the legendary Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame rappers Run DMC. After her electrifying performance, recording artist Janelle Monae expressed her admiration of JAY Z. Nathan Donmoyer, drummer from "electro-pop" band Passion Pit, gave a shout out to JAY Z.

Among the award-winning musical artists performing for concert-goers in the City of Brotherly Love included: JAY Z, Kanye West, Common, Odd Future and Drake, Pearl Jam, Run DMC, Drake, Skrillex, Maybach Music Group (Rick Ross, Wale & Meek Mill), Passion Pit, D'Angelo, Janelle Monae, Santigold, Calvin Harris, The Hives, Rita Ora, Prince Royce, 2 Chainz, Jill Scott and Eve, among others!

Made In America Concerts Benefit United Ways: The Made In America concerts benefit United Ways in Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, Lancaster County, PA. A primary goal of this music festival was to have a positive impact on the communities involved. As a result of these concerts, the money invested into these communities will positively impact the education, income and health of the most vulnerable and most needy citizens in these regions.

Budweiser & Music: Rolling Stones, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder: The Made In America concerts are the latest chapter in Budweiser's long association with music, which includes memorable Rolling Stones tours and Budweiser SuperFest, which was headlined by Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder and other music legends.
